Hi! I'm Lila.

I've got a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Ohio Northern University and I'm currently working as an IT Technician at Tuttle Construction in Lima, Ohio. While I was in school, I worked at ONU's IT helpdesk as a technician when I wasn't in class or working at Tuttle.
I've always loved computers. When I was younger, my mom had an old Compaq laptop running Windows XP that I'd
play games on. Unfortunately for her, I wanted to know what went on in that laptop to put the games on the
screen... so I took it apart. Like, cables everywhere, mother- and daughterboard and everything that connected
to them spread all over the dining room table apart. More fortunately for her, I managed to get it back
together and working again. Seeing the BIOS screen flash up after wiring it all back together is still such
a happy memory for me. Even though it was a factory-made laptop, I still felt like I'd built it with my own
two (admittedly very small) hands. I still have it, too!
Flash-forward to COVID. I still liked computers, but I hadn't really done anything with that. Now, though,
I had all the time in the world. I had just gotten a Nintendo Switch for Christmas and The Legend of Zelda:
Breath of the Wild for my birthday not long after. Now, with all this time on my hands, I could dig into it.
So I did! I played for dozens of hours before realizing the wealth of video-game knowledge that YouTube
held. While watching playthrough after playthrough of the game, I was introduced to mods---ways to add to
and change aspects of the game yourself. I wanted to do that, so I researched, saved money, and custom-built
my own desktop computer. Modding requires technical knowledge, and in the pursuit of that, I discovered how
much I really enjoyed everything from networking and server administration to programming and game
development. And now I have a degree! Funny how the thing that really solidified my path in life was a
$60 Zelda game.
